Goyal in race for chairmanship of Competition Commission

LC Goyal, New Home Secy

Former Home Secretary L C Goyal was among the serving and retired bureaucrats who have been interviewed for the prestigious post of chairman of the Competition Commission of India. After he took early retirement as Home Secretary for ‘personal reasons’, Goyal was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of India Trade Promotion Organization.
The term of current chairman of the Competition Commission Ashok Chawla ends in January 2016. Since the Commission deals with a lot of significant issues relating to trade, commerce and industry, the post of its chairman is considered a prize posting by bureaucrats.
