Former Jharkhand chief secretary to join Congress

Former Jharkhand chief secretary Sajjal Chakraborty, whom chief minister Raghubar Das showed the door in 2015 following a public spat, may join the Congress party.
The 1980 batch IAS officer, who retired in March 2016, is likely to meet Rahul Gandhi before the formal joining. A local of Ranchi, Chakraborty has been one of the most popular IAS officers (Jharkhand cadre) and has a respectable public following in his hometown.
Chakraborty had a meeting with AICC general secretary and Jharkhand-in-charge B K Hariprasad and his deputy Tara Chand Bhagora besides Jharkhand Congress chief Sukhdeo Bhagat to initiate the process of his joining.
