Indianmandarins has reliably earnt that interviews are being held for the coveted post of CEO, National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG) tomorrow (16 September 2016). Reportedly, IAS officers belonging to 1980, 1981 & 1982 batch have bright prospects though few junior officers too have been shortlisted. CEO NISG position is based out of Delhi and Hyderabad and is owned jointly by Nasscom, Government of India and Government of AP.
Former Uttarakhand Chief Secretary N Ravishankar (Rtd IAS:1980:UD) is the senior most among the shortlisted candidates whereas Deverakonda Diptivilasa (Rtd IAS:1981:UP) and Vijay Shankar Madan (IAS:1981:UT) who retired on August 31 this year as Secretary, Dept of Land Resources. Madan was among the front-runners for Member, UIDAI but somehow could not make it. Shyam Kumar Sinha (Rtd IAS:1982:TL) is also in the race for the top job.
The selected candidate will succeed private professional Mr Sanjiv Mital who has been in saddle for six years and there are various charges of funds mismanagement, cuts in hiring personnel and in general running the Organization down.
NISG is a critical component to replace NIC in Digital India strategy of Prime Minister Modi.
