Awed by his track record of honesty and probity, the Uttarakhand Govt has taken months to give a posting to Sanjeev Chaturvedi (IFS:2002:UD). He is finally posted as Conservator of Forest (Research), after being made to go through a tormenting and demoralizing ordeal. In the first week of November, he was promoted to the rank of Conservator of Forest.
In Uttarakhand, there are 12 posts of CF out of which only 08 posts are field operations and 04 posts of CF are non-field/non-operational posts.
The Govt took a U-turn immediately after it posted him as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Uttarakhand’s Resident Commissioner’s office in Delhi and assigned him work relating to National Green Tribunal (NGT) despite the fact that over 180 cases of alleged violation of environment norms in Uttarakhand, which has 70 percent forest cover, are pending trials in NGT.
The Magsaysay Award winner 2002 batch IFS officer had got his cadre changed from Haryana to Uttarakhand. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had sought his services in Delhi Govt (on inter-cadre deputation) to appoint him as his OSD but the Centre denied and wanted him to get back to his newly allotted cadre state of Uttarakhand.
He worked as CVO, AIIMS from June 2012 to June 2016. Last year, he had sought inter-cadre deputation to Delhi government with the intent to get posting as OSD to Delhi CM Kejriwal but ACC headed by PM had declined and he had to join his new cadre state.
