Indianmandarins had reported on November 09, 2016 that many top shots in Central PSUs were in the queue to face the music for their misdeeds, poor performance and lack-luster affair in business transactions which have been adding to the plights of Central PSUs for years. As part of the Namo administration’s high priority for zero tolerance towards non-performance and corruption, several ministries continue to crack the whip.
Director of a CPSE placed under suspension
In a sudden move, Union Ministry of Commerce & Industries has sacked Anand Trivedi, Director (Marketing) in MMTC. He is the second Director from MMTC to be sacked within a month. M G Gupta Director (Finance) MMTC was sacked in the first week of November (web-link below). Trivedi took over as Director in MMTC on 03 July 2012 and had approx seven more months to complete his five years tenure and almost three years to retire (in Oct 2019)
It may be noted that CMDs of several CPSEs were removed in the recent past. Among them were Raheem Khalil (CMD, STC); Jaiveer Srivastava (CMD FACT) and S Venkateswar (CMD, PDIL). Similarly, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers had on 14 June 2016 removed RCF CMD R G Rajan.
