Delhi police senior ranks lack ‘fair’ officers?

Delhi Police

Delhi Police does not look fair as it’s marked by lack of fair sex officers in its senior ranks of Joint CP and DCP. There are four Jt CPs in Range, all occupied by male officers R S Krishnaiah (Jt CP, Southern), S K Gautam (Central), Sanjay Beniwal (Eastern) and Deependra Pathak (Western). All 11 posts of DCP are occupied by men.
Clearly, the absence of senior-level women police officers in DP defies the logic of making the national capital safe for women.
Further, all except one of 181 Police Stations of Delhi is a male preserve. Only Morris Nagar Police Station is under the command of a lady officer (SHO), and lo and behold, she has made it famous by making it Asia’s greenest police station.
Only at the level of Special CP, there are two women officers Vimla Mehra (IPS:1978:UT), who is retiring on February 28, and Ms Sundari Nanda Sivagami (IPS:1982:UT).
