The CBI is said to have filed a closure report or ‘B’ report in its investigation into the unnatural death of Karnataka IAS officer D K Ravi in 2015. In the 90-page report, the CBI has reportedly concluded that Ravi’s death was a case of suicide where no abetment was involved.
The report was reportedly filed on Wednesday before the Bengaluru assistant commissioner (south) — the jurisdictional SDM — before whom the case was registered in March 2015.
Ravi (34), who was working as Additional Commissioner of Commercial Tax (Enforcement) in Bengaluru, was found hanging at his official residence on March 16, 2015. The CBI was handed over the case on March 23, 2015, by the Congress government in Karnataka amid theories that the officer could have been murdered for the position he had taken against realtors and sand mafia.
