Gossip over the selection of the successor of Rajinder Pal Singh (Rtd IAS:1976:AP) has started gaining momentum amid ongoing selection process of the new NHAI Chairman. If credible sources are to be believed as many as 43 applications have been received for the posts which are expected to be short-listed by the end of this month. If bureaucracy buzz is any indication, selection committee would make its recommendation to the ACC for final appointment by the end of April.
The Selection Committee, headed by Cabinet Secretary, will include DoPT Secretary, Secretary MoRTH and probably two Directors from independent management institutions like IIM. R P Singh’s tenure is schedule to complete by June 11, 2015. Singh was appointed as NHAI Chairman on June 11, 2012 for a period of three years or till he would attain 65 years of age.
