Avinash Chander’s sudden ouster from Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) had raised many eyebrows that time. His tenure was cut short by the govt last month, 15 months ahead of his tenure.
Since then the prestigious organisation is looking for his replacement. DRDO affairs are now being managed by Defence Secretary R K Mathur and he will continue to manage the affairs till the government finds a suitable replacement for Avinash Chander. Meanwhile, DRDO has put itself in yet another controversy as project director of Agni V missile Dr R K Gupta has petitioned against his removal by outgoing DRDO chief Avinash Chander.
Incidentally Gupta’s name had come up in connection with the sudden termination of Chander’s contract by the government.
