Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that as many as 15 DS/Director rank officers belonging to CSS & CSSS cadre (over 50 who have completed 30 years in service) have been shortlisted to be offered VRS. Reportedly, three out of 15 belong to CSS cadre whereas 12 belong to CSS cadre.
Indianmandarins on 27 October last year (weblink attached below) had reported that the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), directly supervised by the PMO, was acting fast on a proposal to implement Rule FR 56J for both Group A&B Services (IAS, IPS, IRS IT, IRS C&CE, IRTS, IRAS, etc).
Our report also said that the DoPT was ready with the evaluation & assessment of 500 officers in the rank of Director belonging to CSS cadre (Central Secretariat Service) who have either completed 30 yrs in service or have attained 50 yrs of age.
Under this rule (FR 56J), services of officers who have either completed 30 years in service or reached 50 years of age, whichever comes earlier, will be reviewed. And those who get negative reviews will be given a three-month notice to retire.
